Foresight Optical Ltd. was founded by James Wu in September 1986. Since
then, the company has focused on providing superior quality-cost effective
Polycarbonate Safety & Sun Lens Acrylic Reading Lens and Acrylic Sun
Lens
products. Daily production capacity currently runs at 120,000+ pairs. Our products
are primarily aimed at the Japanese, USA, Hong Kong, European and most Far East
countries. We obtained ISO9001 certification in 2008.
We have the capability to supply full plastic
and polycarbonate eyewear products, for both the sports and sun wear markets.
Foresight Optical has a long term policy of reinvesting profits back into the
company to finance new product development and improved production capabilities
,with a view to reducing overall costs and strengthening price competitiveness.

| Manufacturing
Capability |
| To maintain price
competitiveness on high vol low cost items, Foresight Optical made a
decision 4 years ago to move part of it's production to Mainland China; to
take advantage of the lower cost structure available there. A new factory
was built in Xiamen (east coast of Mainland China) and production
commenced in early 1999.
The Taiwan factory remains responsible
for
-New Product Development
-Production of Medium to High End Products, (less price sensitive)
-Customer Proprietary Design (when maximum confidentiality is required)
-Sales and Marketing
(will continue to be primarily based in Taiwan, although some
functions may move to China if and when required)
Manufacturing and
Product Development
- Foresight has fully automated both its
Taiwan and Xiamen-China factories to control costs and guarantee
consistent high quality.
- Foresight has developed in-house a range
of technologies to manufacture PC lens for a wide range of
applications (sun/ sports/ industrial/ protective).
- Plastic frame production, lens edging,
silkscreen marking...full frame production capability.
- Automation has been fully implemented in
Material Drying, Injection, Molding, Ultrasonic Cleaning, Annealing
and Coating processes.
- We maintain close ties with academic
institutions, sponsor and initiate joint R&D projects to develop
new products, and strive to continuously improve our manufacturing technology.
